AN EVENING FOR MISSIONS

Many thanks to everyone who contributed to
a wonderful Missions Night last Wednesday. Thank
you to Janice Quarterman for a fine meal, to the
volunteers who brought desserts, to the youth who
served the tables, to the Missions and Social
Ministries Committee for working in the kitchen, and
to Bill Roberts for all his assistance. After expenses,
we raised $1,740. Adding this amount to previous
donations, we raised a total of $3,450 for the camp
our sister church in Litomerice will be sponsoring.
Know that Romany children in the Czech Republic
will be blessed by your generosity. Know also that
God is already at work in the lives of the children and
the people who will extend God’s love to them. The
camp will be held July 13-17. Please continue to pray
as preparations are being made.
We ended the evening by commissioning 34
people who will be involved in mission activities this
summer in various parts of the world. The group that
is headed to Cuba in July will once again be taking
gift bags to give to members of our sister church in
Sancti Spiritus. You are invited to bring personal
size toiletry items to the church to be included in
these bags. Your items may be dropped off in Lewis
Hall or the conference room. Thank you.
