How do I get there?

The First Baptist Church Sanctuary is located at 223 Bull Street, with the front door opening to beautiful Chippewa Square. Our Education Building is located behind the Sanctuary at 102 W McDonough Street.

Where do I park?

Street parking is free on Sundays in Savannah and we would suggest arriving at least 30 mins early to find a spot. When there isn’t a large event in town, parking at the Savannah Civic Center is free, easiest, and closest.

The Liberty Parking Deck is free when an order of worship is shown upon exiting. (301 W. Liberty St, Savannah, GA 31401)

The Robinson Parking Deck is free when an order of worship is shown upon exiting. (132 Montgomery St, Savannah, GA 31401)

What time does the service start?

Each Sunday, worship begins at 11:00 a.m. We suggest arriving early to park and experiencing some quiet space within the Sanctuary before worship begins.

What is offered for children?

Children are welcome and accepted in worship at First Baptist Church Savannah! There are special bags available by the front doors of the Sanctuary to help children participate. Nursery is provided in the Sanctuary building throughout worship. Those wishing to remain with their families may do so. All children are invited to come to the front pew during the closing hymn to aid the ministers with the benediction.

What does FBC Savannah believe?

First Baptist Church is a welcoming congregation located in historic downtown Savannah, Georgia. We believe Jesus treated everyone with a spirit of love and equality. Therefore, we accept every individual without regard to age, gender, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, or socio-economic status. We affirm all persons as created in the image of God.

What is the style of the service?

First Baptist Church worship can best be described as traditional and open-minded. You will experience an excellence in music along with fresh expressions of creativity. We hope you will find something familiar and something new every Sunday.

Is there a dress code?

No! Our ministers and choir wear robes and many in the congregation wear their Sunday best. You will also see polo shirts, t-shirts, and shorts on any given Sunday. Please feel free to come as you are!
