who bring glad tidings of good things!" - Romans 10:15
NEWS & EVENTS
The FBC Choir will not rehearse on Wednesday evenings this summer. Instead, they will meet early on Sunday mornings to prepare the anthem for the service. This is a great opportunity to sing with the choir without a long- term commitment. Join them in the sanctuary any Sunday at 10:00 am for rehearsal. For questions, please contact Chris Crook.
On Sunday, June 14, First Baptist will gather to celebrate and give thanks for Gina Shields as she prepares to leave her role with the church. The congregation is invited to join together during coffee hour on the porch before worship begins to wish Gina well and show appreciation for all she has meant to First Baptist. This will be a special time to share gratitude, enjoy fellowship, and offer Gina best wishes as she begins this next chapter. All are encouraged to stop by, say hello, and help make the morning a meaningful send-off.
Summer has a way of inviting us to slow down a little — longer days, lighter schedules, and more space to simply enjoy life together. This summer, instead of larger gatherings, we’re creating opportunities for connection through small, special-interest groups designed to bring us together in meaningful and fun ways. Picture lingering conversations over coffee, cooking meals together in the kitchen, exploring important topics, walking with friends in nature, laughing through a board game night, or discovering a new hobby alongside others. The possibilities are wide open, and there’s always a place for everyone. If you’d like to be part of a group this summer, fill out the form HERE. We can’t wait to help you find a space to connect, build friendships, and make this summer one to remember.
Registration is now open for the Cooperative Baptist Fellowship’s 2026 General Assembly, “The Bold Type.” The gathering will take place June 17–19, 2026, at the Hyatt Regency Jacksonville Riverfront and will offer a meaningful time of learning, worship, inspiration, and fellowship. Centered on the theme of bold faith, the Assembly will invite participants to listen to and learn from one another, embrace innovative ministries, and explore new ways of being and doing church together. Click HERE for more information or to register for the assembly.
Beginning in June, we will be introducing a new childcare reservation system designed to help us provide safe, attentive, and high-quality care for our youngest members each Sunday. This new process will also help our volunteers and staff prepare thoughtfully and ensure that each child is welcomed well. To help us plan ahead, we kindly ask that you reserve your child’s spot prior to each Sunday service by clicking HERE. We are grateful for your partnership and look forward to welcoming your little ones during worship each week.
