Healthy Savannah 2012
As part of the Healthy Savannah 2012
emphasis instigated by Mayor Johnson, First Baptist
Church will host an Every Step Counts fitness walk
on Saturday, November 17. Every Step Counts is a
walking program for cancer survivors and their
supporters. The group will gather starting at 8:30 a.m.
in Lewis Hall and will begin walking by 9:00. The
downtown walk will take participants into several of
the downtown churches which will be open for the
event. Participants will walk at their own pace, and
participation is open to all who are interested. Lem
and Eve Brawner will serve as the First Baptist
Church hosts for the event. Churches on the tour
include First Baptist Church, St. John’s Episcopal
Church, Congregation Mickve Israel, Wesley
Monumental United Methodist Church, Cathedral of
St. John the Baptist, Christ Church, First African
Baptist Church, The Evangelical Lutheran Church of
the Ascension, and Independent Presbyterian Church.
