FBC wins the Team Challenge and Raises Money for a Great Cause
More than 30 people represented First Baptist at the St. Peter's Kilometers 5K and 10K in April, raising money to benefit the Interfaith Hospitality Network. FBC won the team challenge by having the most finishers, which meant our staff members had to make good on their promise to dye their hair if we won! As winners, we also got our church name featured on a plaque, and the race donated $500 in our church's name to each of the recipient charities.
The scenic 5K and 10K races were held Saturday, April 26th at St. Peter's Episcopal Church on Skidaway Island. Race proceeds benefitted Interfaith Hospitality Network of Coastal Georgia, a local group of churches (including FBC) providing emergency housing and meals for homeless families. The race also benefitted Heads Up Guidance Services (H.U.G.S.), a local non-profit organization providing professional counseling and vocational guidance to all who desire growth, specifically targeting disadvantaged citizens.
