BUXTEHUDE CANTATA
As a part of our worship on the First Sunday
of Advent, the Adult Choir will present a brief cantata
by the German composer Dietrich Buxtehude. Organ
selections for the service will also be works by this
composer, who was a strong influence upon Johann
Sebastian Bach and other musicians. This year marks
the 300th anniversary of his death. Sunday’s order of
worship will include some biographical information,
as well as a copy of the text.
