Choral Concert - November 19

The Adult Choir of First Baptist Church of Savannah will present Part One of the oratorio “St. Paul” by Felix Mendelssohn on Saturday, November 19, at 7:30 p.m. Baritone Daniel Cohen, an active soloist in the Savannah area and recent semi-finalist in the American Traditions Competition of the Savannah Music Festival, will sing the role of St. Paul. Tenor Earnest Murphy, a native of Savannah who has now retired from a professional singing career in New York City, will sing the role of Stephen. The thirty-voice choir is under the direction of organist James Richardson, Associate Minister at First Baptist for 34 years. The concert will take place on the eve of the church’s Founders’ Day, when the congregation will celebrate 205 years of continuous ministry and mission to this community. The public is cordially invited to attend the concert, which will take place in the sanctuary of the historic church, at 223 Bull Street, facing Chippewa Square in downtown Savannah.
